Alligator jerky!!!

Yep you read that right, Alligator jerky! I was filling up the car after getting here to Tennessee and at the counter they had a whole rack of "exotic" jerky which did include kangaroo, elk and bison jerky but I just had to try the alligator one. It didn't taste overly weird, kinda like salami really but just had to try it. The guy behind the counter was pretty funny and I was his first ever Australian and he assured me that the alligator jerky did taste like alligator. Guess alligator tastes like salami hahaahahahahahaaa!  And I love how they specify that it's a North American alligator in the ingredients list :)

Astronaut ice cream yay!!

 So I went to Discovery Place (which is kinda like Questacon) in Charlotte yesterday and it was lots of fun. And of course they had a gift shop where I laid my hands on lots of cool goodies including the below - Astronaut ice cream! It's basically dehydrated ice cream but it tastes awesome. I'm not really sure what to compare it to so if you ever have the chance, try it! I got Chocolate chocolate chip, Mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream.

And I think I've ranted before about the drug commercials that are on here and I finally remembered to find some for you to watch so that you can see what I mean. I have no idea how these drugs actually make any money when they advertise those serious side effects. It's the law that they have to disclose the side effects but it's kind of like an anti advertisement to me so I dunno why they bother. Anyway check em out for yourself:

Mystery items

So what exactly is Churn Spread or Half and Half? That would be butter and milk American Style. I'm wondering exactly what Half and Half is half of? Milk and what else? It did have some sort of additive but I can't remember what it was now as that was breakfast and it's now dinner time. Just thought I'd share  :)

Weird hotel things

There are some weird things about American hotels that I thought I'd share. In every hotel that I've been to there is a marble strip on the floor that divides the bathroom from the carpet. Even the crappier hotels have had this strip so I'm not sure if it's part of the building code or something but I just thought it was odd.

The other thing is that most full length mirrors are strategically placed so that you can see yourself on the crapper. I dunno if people have a weird fascination for seeing themselves while on the loo but in probably half of the places I've been in thats where the mirror has been. There is stacks of wall space in the room to put it somewhere else but noope!

Weird.

It wasn't anything special to write home about so instead I bring to you a restaurant I saw on my way out of Myrtle Beach that made me laugh my ass off. I realise its an engine concept but still, good one.

A translation

This is on the back of my hotel room door. It made me giggle as it's just a drawn out polite "don't steal our stuff" notice. Although I will give them that their blankets are nice but one won't get coming home with me.

This is what it's come to....

Whats this you ask? This is my morning coffee. The place I'm staying at today is the first one that I've stayed at that doesn't have a microwave or a coffee machine. It's actually the most roach motel place I've stayed at but its still not too bad. They also don't do free breakie and there isn't anywhere to go get coffee anywhere close BUT I do have coffee bags (like tea bags but coffee filled) and coffee creamer. BUT I don't have a coffee mug yet as I haven't needed one until now. I do, however, have a small glass dish that I use to microwave scrambled eggs and it's roughly coffee cup volume. So I just ran the tap as hot as it goes, which wasn't very hot as this place's plumbing sucks. And hey presto, coffee of sorts. Still tastes okay even if it is lukewarm in a square "cup". These are the lengths I'll go to to feed my coffee addiction.

Weird things

 Power sockets here look like faces to me, on the left, normal sockets and my current hotel has winky face sockets ;}

 

And Altoids - a) thats a weird name for mints... and then b) you open the tin and there's the right pic. Its paper surrounding the mints but I'm not quite sure what thats supposed to mean... but ooohkay. Hahah I just took the paper out and underneath there is the following " Time to buy more Altoids. And some psychotherapy for your mouth." Not sure if that's part of their marketing campain or something. Funny anyway.
