Well yesterday I went to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens because I really needed to take a looooooong walk and just be outside. I was severely tempted to take my boots up so I could scrunch my toes in the grass but didn't succumb. One thing I should mention is that American grass feels really soft and springy under foot. Not quite like tough old Aussie grass. Anyway the Gardens were having their Halloween Bootanica event to celebrate Halloween which I didn't know about until I got there so it was pretty nice as there were lots of little kids running around all dressed up and they had lots of events for them. Hay rides, face painting, a haunted house and a spooktacular show. They also had a scarecrow hunt and all around the gardens there were storybook themed scarecrows. I didn't take photos of all of them but there are some below for your veiwing pleasure. I was there for almost 3 hours just looking around and it was really nice to be outside for a while. You can click on the photos to enlarge.
And today I went to the NASA US Space and Rocket Center but I'll write more about in a second post (which you'll actually read first) as it takes too long to upload so many photos on a post :)

I'm not sure if you can see the tag with this bonsai but it was established circa 1698 |
