Went for a bit of a drive to do the Lighthouse tour as there are a lot of historic lighthouses in the South of the Outer Banks region. The first lighthouse on the tour (apart from the one up at Corolla the previous day) was the Bodie Island lighthouse. When I first got there there was a woman rolling around on the ground in front of it and as I got closer to take a photo of the lighthouse, her friend who was with her explained that she was taking a photo straight up...oooooookaaaay :)

The next stop on the journey south was at the National Wildlife refuge visitor centre on Pea Island which is the northern tip of Hattaras Island and isn't really an Island itself. They had some pretty neat exhibits of the birds of prey in the area and a rather puzzling sign ;}

I'll cut this post in two as it's getting a bit long so you might read it out of order if you don't read the blog backwards :)
