Outer Banks, North Carolina

Drove up to the Outer Banks (OBX) area of North Carolina. It is an island on the coast of North Carolina and is home to Kitty Hawk, home of Orville and Wilbur Wright who are the guys who were first to fly. It took about 6 hours to drive there from Charlotte so just took a walk on the beach once I got there as I didn't have much brain power to do anything else and it was getting dark.

Early the next day I headed off to the Wright Brothers memorial which had some pretty interesting info on the brothers and their early life. Interesting to see the field where they first flew their primitive planes and gave birth to the aeronautics industry.

At first I thought this was a shark egg but found out later that it's a Skate Egg (see the aquarium post)

Also found out later that this is a Whelk Egg case

which was originally sewn with a sewing machine like this which my Granny had :)
